Eastchester Local 916 Goes Pink For The Month Of October
In honor of breast cancer awareness month and all the ladies battling this horrible disease, the Eastchester Professional Firefighter's uniform shirt for the month of October will change from the traditional navy blue, to pink. All officers and firefighters on all 4 shifts will be wearing the pink! These shirts will also be for sale at a cost of $20.00. All proceeds will go towards breast cancer research. Anyone interested in a shirt can go to Sta. #1, 255 Main St. Limited supply. To this date, Local 916 raised almost $2000.00

Second weekend fire in Eastchester displaces residents

EASTCHESTER - An early morning house fire yesterday at 25 Highland Ave. was apparently started when a fire from a faulty or poorly constructed fireplace spread to a designer wood floor or plywood framing, police said.

EASTCHESTER - Eleven people were displaced and two stores and apartments were heavily damaged when an early morning fire ripped through a deli yesterday, officials said.
